Description
Munstead Lavender | Lavandula angustifolia
After many years of trialing lavender, we're proud to add a variety that we can stand behind! Munstead is a compact, slow-growing, and cold hardy English lavender that reliably overwinters. The plants produce two flushes of long-standing, sweetly-scented flowers that can be used for fragrance or culinary purposes. Lavenders require full sun and well-drained soil, and usually don't begin flowering until their second year. Hardy in zones 5-9.Seed Starting Successfully
Start your garden from scratch with Gertens' wide variety of seed packets! Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just starting out, we have seeds for every skill level and garden size. From colorful flowers to delicious vegetables, our seeds are carefully selected for their quality and performance.
Details
Start indoors 8-10 weeks before last frost, sowing the seeds shallowly as light aids in germination. Transplant outdoors into well drained soil after the danger of frost has passed, taking care not to transplant too deeply. Clip back all spent flower stems in late fall.
