Description

Blueberry | Vaccinium corymbosum 'Earliblue'

Highbush Blueberries are ideal native shrubs to include in the landscape. Plants are hardy and long-lived, asking only for a sunny spot with highly organic, acid soil, so dig in some peat moss when planting, if you're in doubt, and mulch to retain moisture. Plant in moist, humus-rich, acidic soil in full sun. An early-season bearer of medium-large, delicious fruit.

Provide an acidic, well-drained soil. Water regularly during the growing season to maintain a deep, extensive root system. Before new growth begins, prune off twiggy growth, leaving only main stems to prevent overbearing; feed with an acidic fertilizer.
