Maximilian Sunflower will grow almost anywhere; upland hills, prairies, roadsides, rocky ledges, along streams and in disturbed areas. It can be used in erosion control, perennial gardens, wildflower meadows, habitat restoration and ornamental gardens. Deer and livestock will forage the older or young plants. Maximilian Sunflower is tall growing, height can range from 24-120 inches. Bloom time is in the fall with full sun and wet mesic-dry mesic soils.
