Help and Advice

Details

Use With All Evergreens and Acid-Loving Plants: This formula is designed for those plants and trees that traditionally require high acid fertilizers. Some common users of this plant food are Evergreens, Dogwoods, Rhododendrons and Azaleas.

This formula does an excellent job in areas where hard water is common and where it is difficult to grow acid loving plants and trees. It is also used on bedding plants where the P.H. Level is too high. A few feedings, are usually sufficient to bring down a high P.H. to a more desired level.

Absolutely Safe for Evergreens and Acid-Loving Plants: Will not “burn” roots or foliage, even in hot, dry summer conditions when used according to our simple “just add water” directions.

Green Loon® Acid-Loving Formula is specifically designed to be mixed with water and is completely water soluble. It may absorb some dampness and under certain storage conditions may harden. Its effectiveness will not be reduced. Using a clean tool, break up any large lumps to ensure an accurate measurement. Very hard lumps will dissolve almost instantly in water.

Product Questions (4)

Do not start any type of fertilizer regime for young seedlings until they have at least two full sets of regular leaves. Start with a root stimulator, then after a month you may move on to a gentle, weak (half strength) water-based fertilizer. Remember...
1) Nitrogen (leaf development, top growth) 2) Phosphorus (roots and blooms) 3) Potassium aka Potash (roots).  To shop Gertens fertilizer options, click here
Use a bloom enhancing fertilizer, make sure it has a high level of phosphorus (middle number of NPK) for full blooms.
The recommended root stimulator for Hydrangeas would be the Plant Starter Solution (4-10-3).
