How do I protect my outdoor furniture over the winter months?

We always recommend that furniture be brought inside for the winter. If it cannot be brought inside, it should be elevated off the ground (so the legs are not sitting in water or snow) and covered.

It is especially important to prop up wood furniture and cover completely. Water expands when it freezes. If water soaks into wood, when the temperature drops below freezing, it can crack and split the wood. Wood furniture should be oiled before storing for the winter.

For winter protection, we recommend using Treasure Garden® RhinoWeave™ polyester fabric, which constructs them to be durable, breathable, water-resistant, and will not crack or peel like vinyl to stay heavy-duty and long-lasting.

Cushions must be brought inside for the winter. Critters tear out the stuffing for nesting material.
