Description
Liatris punctata.
One of several blazing stars native to Minnesota. Clump-forming habit that is typically found in dry prairies, sandy or rocky areas with sun. Useful for prairie restorations, wildlife plantings, landscaping, pollinator gardens and cut flowers. Attracts many species of butterflies, bees and other pollinators. Drought tolerant. Grows well in dry to mesic soil conditions in full sunlight. Height ranges from 1-2′. Purple flowers bloom in Summer to early Fall.
