Description

Dieffenbachia maculata

'Cool Beauty' is a new hybrid from Japan and really deserves its name. With creamy light green to almost white foliage, the added brush strokes of green and cream margins really make it pop.

A member of the Dumb Cane family, these are durable and easy to care for plants. Indoors they will typically reach 2 to 3 feet tall and wide in a wide range of lighting conditions.

Keep the soil relatively moist but not soggy, overwatering can cause root rot. Allow the soil to dry down approximately 2 inches between waterings, then water thoroughly being sure to let it drain. You do not want the plant to sit in water. Droopy leaves are a sign that the plant needs watering.

Well-draining soil will keep most houseplants happy. A mix of peat moss, coco coir, cactus soil, bark works well. The important thing is that the medium it grows in drains well. 'Cool Beauty' does best in medium to bright light. They prefer 40% or higher humidity level.

This plant is toxic so keep it out of the way of curious pets and people.
