Description
Aquilegia canadensis.
One of our most popular shade tolerant species. Attracts a variety of pollinators from bees to butterflies and even hummingbirds. Found naturally in deciduous forests; makes a great addition to any shade garden or wooded area. Grows well in dry to mesic soils. Prefers areas of shade and filtered sunlight but will grow in sunny areas, as well. Red to pink bell shaped blossoms in Spring to early Summer. Ranges 2-3′ in height.
