Bulk Landscape Supply Delivery Details


Gertens features one of Minnesota's largest selection of bulk mulches, soils, rocks, and sands available for delivery in bulk throughout the Twin Cities and surrounding areas. Our convenient, local bulk delivery is a great way to get your project started fast with high-quality landscaping materials. Below is a guide of how our bulk delivery program works and important reminders when planning a project and placing your order.
About Bulk Delivery:
- Bulk delivery is available on most of our landscape supplies such as mulch, soils, rock, sand, composts, salt, and more. Prior to ordering, please familiarize yourself with the information on this page to ensure a smooth ordering and delivery process.
- Delivery charges on bulk items will vary depending on two major factors: 1. The location we will deliver the product to and 2. The amount of bulk supplies ordered (both the amount of product in yards as well as the total varieties of product in each order).
- To get a shipping quote, simply add any bulk items to your cart and continue to the checkout page and enter your delivery information.
- Use the red buttons on this page to get shortcuts to the categories of bulk landscape supplies we offer.
- Ordering more than one type of bulk product? Each different type of bulk product will generally require its own delivery. However, in specific cases we are able to deliver up to 3 yards of two different products in the same truck. For any delivery with three or more types of product there will be a minimum of two delivery fees required.
- Delivering to an alley? Please note that our alley delivery truck can deliver is based on the type of product. We can do alley deliveries only up to 6 yards for mulch, and 4 yards for soil, sand, and rock.
- Our bulk items are delivered with a different truck than other products, particularly our bagged products that get delivered on pallets. If you place an order that has both bulk items AND palletized items, you will see at least two delivery charges in your cart. That is because your order would require two deliveries to fulfill.
- To keep your delivery charges lower, try to order the same product type (only pallets/bags or only bulk). Depending on how many items you order, it may require multiple deliveries, but typically we can get multiple pallets and bags onto one delivery or in the case of bulk orders, we can sometimes split our bulk truck and put two bulk products in one truck delivery.

Bulk Shipping Rules & Restrictions:
- Bulk delivery is only available in a select area in and around the Twin Cities. Our delivery footprint varies by the season, and to determine if we offer delivery in your area, simply add a product to your cart, enter your shipping address at checkout and see if a Local Delivery option appears.
- If you enter your address into the checkout page and no shipping method appears, please call 651-239-1315 for a quote to ship to your area.
- Large deliveries, orders with multiple products, and alley deliveries may involve capacity limits that could require additional delivery charges that may not be reflected at checkout. If this situation applies, you will be contacted to discuss additional delivery charges. If an additional fee is required, we will always ask for your approval before fulfilling the order and will also give you the opportunity to cancel.
- There are NO RETURNS allowed on palletized or bulk items. The only exception is in cases of errors such as an incorrect product delivered.
Preparing for Your Bulk Delivery:
- After you place your order on our website, we will follow up to confirm your exact delivery date. However, we will not be able to guarantee the time of day that your delivery will be made. Our driver will give you a call when they are on their way to your location.
- You are not required to be home during the delivery, but you are required to provide a Day of Deliver Contact Person who can be reached in the event our driver has a question or issue. You will be prompted for this information when adding your item to your cart.
- Please make sure the delivery area is completely cleared before the driver arrives. Please do not wait until our driver arrives to begin clearing the area. This ensures we keep our deliveries on schedule.
- Our drivers are required to keep all wheels on pavement. We will not be able to fulfill requests to drive over lawns, dirt, mud, etc.
